“The Guard Fit Challenge"

The Army National Guard will feature a multi-tier set up, including the free camo face painting with battle gear to try on and pictures.

The main activity for this event will be a mini-athletic course for National Guard Medals. This will be a continuous event run throughout the day, no call outs or pre-registration required.

The Guard-Fit Challenge for age 16 and up will feature a short course starting with pushups (25 for men / 15 for women) followed by a lunge walk to the pull up bars (10 for men / 5 for women) followed by low crawl to the tire flip (3 flips different size tires for different size competitors), sprint back to start line and finish with sit-ups (25 for males / 20 females.) The course is run for time, with plenty of leeway allowed for appropriate age and gender competitors. A scoreboard will be kept for the best times in different classes. This competition course is subject to change - all the of the stages pictured below will be included.

Please note that folks that want to participate in the FULL course must be 16 years old. Younger ages can do an event or face painting, camouflage gear and pictures, but must be 16 to run FULL competition course.

RivahFest with the help from Virginia ARNG will identify and award the best performer of the day with a $100 gift certificate.

The Army National Guard will feature two armored vehicles for static display in the contest area.

This activity is located on Virginia Street, between Water Lane and Cross Street, on the Gilchrist Hockey field immediately adjacent to Virginia Street. Any questions about the Virginia National Guard please call 540-899-4022 or 540-421-7726.
